A number of players are beginning to be linked with moves to Swansea City, including Sunderland’s Jack Colback and Crystal Palace’s Jonny Williams.

JACK COLBACK

The Mirror, not the best source for transfer speculation, believe that Garry Monk is interested in signing the 24 year-old midfielder, who is out of contract with Sunderland this Summer.

A low earner at the Stadium of Light, Colback was unable to agree improved terms and could be on his way out.

TOM INCE

A very unlikely move you’d have to say having turned down the chance to join Swansea City back in the January transfer window – opting to join Crystal Palace instead. He’s been linked with a move to Italian Seria A side Inter Milan, but says a move to Swansea City would interest him:

“You would have to ask the Swansea chairman. If they are it would be an option because Swansea`s a fantastic club.

“I didn`t get the best of receptions here (in the 3-1 win against Wales Under-21s) and I didn`t get a good one when I came back with Crystal Palace.

“But it`s a fantastic club which play fantastic football and Swansea has always been an interest for me ever since the transfer window has come about.

“If Swansea are interested then definitely (it is an option). It`s a fantastic club which is going places.”

JONNY WILLIAMS
Wales Online are reporting that Swansea City boss Garry Monk may Jonny Williams – one of Wales’ brightest young prospects, on his Summer transfer targets list, but surely Crystal Palace will be relunctant to let go of the 20 year-old, with the Swans required to pay £4m for the midfielder.

JORDY CLASIE

Voetbal International, a more reliable source of transfer news, particularly when Roberto Martinez was manager and he signed the likes of Dorus de Vries, Cedric van der Gun and Ferrie Bodde, VI were often first to report the news of their signings.

VI are reporting that Swansea City are interested in the Feyernoord midfielder. The 22 year-old is another bright, up and coming youngster and Monk will do well to convince th Eredivisie outfit to sell a player with such promise. So much promise, that Clasie has been included in Louis van Gaal’s preliminary 30-man World Cup squad.

Meanwhile, Swansea City manager Garry Monk insists that Michu has not been put up for sale:

‘He has definitely not been put up for sale by anyone at this club, me, the chairman or anyone,’

‘Our only discussion about Michu is getting him back to fitness and making sure he’s on the pitch for Swansea and scoring goals.

‘He’s a goalscorer, our top scorer two seasons ago, so that’s not something you dismiss very lightly. We want him here at the club.’

A lot has been said about the Spaniard this season, with growing speculation to suggest that he has played his last game for the club. Rumours suggest that he wants to leave the club, and that his ankle is an on-going serious problem.

However, Monk continues to insist that he is not for sale, and the club’s focus now is looking to get him recovered in time for the new 2014/15 season.
