There is strong speculation emerging this week that Swansea City captain Ashley Williams may consider listening to offers elsewhere, as contract moves have apparently broken down.

The Welsh international was linked to a move to Arsenal last Summer, but a move never materialised as the £10m asking price proved to be too much, but with the player’s contract expiring next year, he could be bought for less than half that figure.

The Daily Mail believe that the 29 year-old has five firm offers available to him, and manager Garry Monk is of course very keen for the defender to extend his contract at the Liberty Stadium.

It appears that that might not happen, but hopefully talks between Williams and Swansea City will occur again soon and that the likes of chairman Huw Jenkins and manager Garry Monk can convince him to stay.

Arsenal are believed to be one of the clubs considering a move, and you can’t rule out Merseyside clubs Liverpool and Everton, as former Swansea managers Brendan Rodgers and Roberto Martinez may consider a move.
