Swansea City look set to complete their second Summer signing, after free agent French striker Bafetimbi Gomis.
We reported here that Swansea City looked like beating Newcastle United to securing the services of the 28 year-old frontman – whose contract with Lyon expired this Summer.
The Swans tried signing him last year, but terms couldn’t be agreed despite them being better than what Lyon had to offer.
Instead, Gomis chose to stay on at Lyon to see out the remainder of his contract.
Inevitably, the media believe that Gomis’ imminent arrival will pave the way for Bony to leave, but manager Garry Monk sees Gomis as an additional attacking option to Bony – as he prioritises keeping him srize asset at the Liberty Stadium.
