Reports in Holland suggest that Luc Castaignos prefers a move to Benfica over Swansea City

Reports in Holland suggest that Luc Castaignos prefers a move to Benfica over Swansea City.

The Swans have had a £6.5m fee agreed for the FC Twente striker for almost 2 weeks now – but still a move didn’t look imminent.

It might never happen now as Benfica are believed to have entered the race for the 21 year-old striker.

According to Dutch daily TC/Tubantia, Castaignos is more interested in joining Benfica because of the involvement of the Doyen Sports Group, who partly own the player.

There have been mixed reviews about the young forward, with his finishing ability coming into question.

You have to wonder how many chances he’s missing then, as he’s scored quite a few goals in the Dutch top flight – 27 goals in 54 starts since 2012. 14 of those goals were scored in 31 games last season.
