Swansea City are now being linked with a move for Spurs striker Giovani Dos Santos.

The Mexican striker is set to have crunch talks with his club as he continues to struggle to force his way into the first team at White Hart Lane.

Despite being only 23 years of age, he has 55 caps for his country, and he added one to that figure yesterday when he played in Mexico’s 2-0 win against Wales.

Following a £5million move from Barcelona in 2008, he has made just 17 appearances and he may request a move if he’s not guaranteed a bigger involvement in the team next season.

Dos Santos said:

“I don`t know about my future.

“I want to concentrate on the national team, but after that I will speak to the chairman to see what is going to happen to me.

“You never know in football. You have to try to do your best to get chances. Maybe I will go, maybe I will stay. It`s great to come to the national team and play games. I`m grateful for the coach to give me the chance. It`s a pleasure.

“I don`t have any other offers at the moment. I will speak to my manager and we will see in a few weeks what will happen with my future.”

There has been a mention that Swansea City will look to loan Dos Santos, but he may look for a permanent exit from Tottenham if Harry Redknapp can’t guarantee him regular first team football. Then again, he could boost his career with a season long-loan at Swansea City – a club where he could shine like fellow Spurs defender Steven Caulker.
