Swansea City?s second team easily beat Rushden and Diamonds in the LDV Vans Trophy 4-0, can you imagine if Jackett fielded his first team tonight!

He made 9 changes to the side that beat Yeovil last Friday as the second team put the Swans into the Quarter Finals of the LVD Vans Trophy Southern Section.

With just a few League One teams left in the competition, Swansea will certainly fancy their chances of winning the cup and would relish a cup final at the Millenium Stadium.

Andy Robinson grabbed a brace while Paul Connor and Garry Monk also got on the score sheet.

Willy Gueret made way for Brian Murphy in goal as the French keeper occupied a place on the bench. Fisken played his first match in nearly a year, replacing Tate at right back. Monk and O?Leary partnered each other in the centre with Austin on the left.

Skipper, Roberto Martinez returned to the starting line-up with 17 year-old, Stuart MacDonald in the centre of midfield, Robinson and Goodfellow occupied the wings.

Lee Trundle was missing from the whole 16-man squad tonight as he was rested ahead of Saturday?s trip to Tranmere. Akinfenwa was also missing for the same reason. Therefore Connor and Forbes played up front.

Jackett would have been happy after knowing he could rely on his second team to do the business against a side in the league below us.

We had plenty of chances against a poor League Two side and it could have been game over at half time. Goodfellow and Robinson were creating problems on the wings as they teamed up to get the Swans off the mark after 20 minutes.

Stockport County, also near the bottom of the Football League managed to produce an upset against our strongest side in the FA Cup with a 2-0 win. Tonight however was a totally different story.

Connor could have scored within just 8 seconds but he was unable to get his header on target from MacDonald?s cross. He also threw away another glorious chance a few minutes later as the Swans put on the pressure.

Gary Fisken played his first game in nearly a year, replacing Tate at right back but he failed to impress and really, the sooner he goes the better.

There was still no luck for Paul Connor, he missed another chance at the start of the second half but we could certainly rely on Robbo to get us another goal to put the game beyond doubt. His second goal was an excellent finish from just outside the area after 65 minutes.

Marc Goodfellow was also trying to impress the manager to try and boost his chances of first team football. He assisted Swansea?s third goal as Monk headered in his cross to make it three after 76 minutes.

Paul Connor then finally grabbed a goal in the last minute after rounding the keeper from a great pass from Martinez.

It now seems we have no trouble in this competition, especially at home with a first team or not and hopefully we can get to the final. Bradford, Tranmere, MK Dons and Walsall were the only League One teams to win tonight so there?s no reason why we can?t all enjoy a day out in Cardiff for a cup final!
