Lee Thorpe has returned to Swansea City after his 1-month loan spell with League Two side Peterborough United comes to an end.

The striker was travelling to and from his home in Bristol and manager Mark Wright said the situation wasn’t ideal.

Despite Thorpe not scoring in any of the 6 games he played for The Posh, he did create several goals and Wright was interested in taking him on permanantly.

He told their official website: ”That wasn’t good for us or him. If you have to bring loan players in you want them around us all of the time. Unfortunately, as he is not owned by us we can’t dictate as much what we want from the player. It just wasn’t going to work out.

”I had a lot of time for him as a player, but we couldn’t sign him permanently without getting one out ourselves. There are a couple of other things, but I don’t wish to go into that. He has gone back to Swansea and we move on,”
