Brendan Rodgers said his side have played better than yesterday’s performance in the 3-0 win at Crystal Palace.

Scott Sinclair, Darren Pratley and Joe Allen were on target for the Swans as they eased to victory at Selhurst Park, and puts George Burley’s men bottom of the Championship table.

Rodgers says the win sets us up nicely for Sunday’s South Wales derby match against Cardiff City:

‘We could have scored four or five. Overall it was a good performance. To control the game like we did was obviously pleasing.

‘Palace have some wonderful young talent here who, on their day, can cause you a real problem, but the best teams start quick and finish strong. That’s what we did.

‘We’ve played better but I can’t complain. We scored three goals and kept another clean sheet, which is what I wanted when I came here.

‘I’m looking forward to the derby now with Cardiff on Sunday. It will be a great day. It’s my first one and today’s performance sets us up nicely. We go into it with confidence.

‘Scott (Sinclair) keeps on scoring. Teams set up to try and stop him but he’s had that knack since he was 15 years old.’
