Swansea City have received a boost with the news that Kemy Agustien has been given the all-clear to return to training on Monday

Swansea City have received a boost with the news that Kemy Agustien has been given the all-clear to return to training on Monday.

The Dutch midfielder suffered a knock to his knee during Tuesday’s Carling Cup defeat at Wigan Athletic, but Rodgers is expected to have him available for next weekend’s derby against Cardiff City.

The former trialist had been injured since the end of July with a knee ligament problem but he returned last week to make his debut for the Swans after joining as a free agent.

A club’s spokesman said:

‘It is the same knee that Kemy damaged in pre-season but it’s the other side of the knee and the injuries are unrelated,’

‘It’s a little bit sore, but Kemy should be back in training at the start of next week and we’re hopeful that he will be fine for the Cardiff game.’
