QPR manager Harry Redknapp says his side dropped two points after failing to hold on for the win at home against Swansea City.

Leroy Fer fired in a superb opener and it looked like the goal was going to be enough for Redknapp’s side, until substitute Wilfried Bony brilliantly found the net from inside the area.

It was another game that wasn’t lacking controversy. The referee failed to spot that QPR goalkeeper Robert Green had clearly handled the ball outside his area as Routledge looked to go around him.

Then, with 4 minutes remaining, Routledge was shown a red card for apparently lashing out after a poor and dangerous challenge on him by Karl Henry.

Redknapp says dropping two points is a big blow:

“There was only a minute-and-a-half to go and we defended for our lives, so to concede then is obviously a big blow for us,”

“I couldn`t have asked for any more from the lads. They did what was asked of them and even after their goal we should have scored – we had a great opportunity to win the game.

“We needed the second goal but when they put three minutes [of injury time] up, you think you just need to manage to see the game out and keep the ball in the right areas.

“These things can happen in football when you`re hanging on, are anxious and there`s a minute to go. That can happen.

“It`s two vital points I felt we deserved and needed but we couldn`t quite hang on for.”
