QPR manager Harry Redknapp praises Swansea City’s attacking link up play as his side lost 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday night.

The R’s have now lost all seven of their away games but they’ll be disappointed that they couldn’t hold on as Ki Sung Yueng and Wayne Routledge scored late on to guarantee the three points for the Swans.

It was probably Swansea’s most comfortable win in recent weeks – at least, as Fabianski only had to make one save in the 90 minutes and the defence had little work to do as they dominated with almost 60% possession.

Redknapp was an admirer of the way Swansea play football and was particularly impressed by the link-up play between striker Wilfried Bony and attacking midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson.

“Make no mistake about it, they`re a very good side.

“They played some fantastic football tonight. (Wilfried) Bony and (Gylfi) Sigurdsson are fantastic players and caused us problems all night.

“I thought we might hang on for a point when the clock was ticking down, but we were done by two late goals.”

QPR had goalkeeper Rob Green to thank for come half time, as he made two superb saves to deny Kyle Bartley with a header at the far post from a corner before Sigurdsson’s excellent effort via a free-kick.

He also denied Routledge in a one-on-one situation as the Swans found it almost impossible to get past him.

Fortunately for us though, Ki got through late on with a low strike from an acute angle. Routledge added a second on 83 minutes with low strike from 20 yards.

Redknapp added:

“Rob`s been in great form for us. He`s been outstanding,”

“Tonight he was top class. Some of the saves he made were incredible.

“Alex (McCarthy) coming in has helped raise his game to another level.

“I`m very fortunate that I`ve got good goalkeepers at this club.”
