Swansea City AFC.co.uk Comment:

Lee Trundle has proved to be one of the most exciting players
to watch for the Swans in many years. He started off his career for
non-league side Rhyl, where Brian Flynn noticed that he was something
special and bought him for 60,000 when he was the current manager at
Wrexham.

He averaged around a goal every 3 games for Wrexham before Brian Flynn
signed him again, but this time at Swansea on a free transfer.

He become a favourite amongst the fans ever since he first signed for
the club with his tricks, skills and amazing goals. He scored 21 in his
first season and improved on that the following year with 22.

He won the FA award for player of the round for the FA Cup 3rd Round
during the 2003-04 season after his superb free kick to advance Swansea
to the 4th round. Lee Trundle signed another contract extension to keep
him at the club until June 2007 and he said: “This is a sign that we
are moving in the right direction, I can’t wait to run out at the new
stadium in front of 20,000 supporters.”

Trundle aimed to improve his goal tally the following season and became
one of the few Swansea players to score 20 or more goals in a season.

Trundle began last season by forming a good partnership with Adebayo Akinfenwa.

His form started to drop however and after a while Jackett finally dropped the popular striker in favour of Leon Knight.

The former Brighton man scored a hatrick against Brentford in the Play-off semi-final to guide us to the Final.

With Trundle banned for the opening game of the new season, Knight is likely to be partnered by Fallon on August 5th against Cheltenham at home. He’ll be hoping to keep his place in the side ahead of the fans’ favourite.
