“It’s hard to keep saying that” – Potter’s Swans’ major weakness exposed again

|

Swansea City manager Graham Potter admits that it’s hard to keep saying the same things after losing in a similar manner as set piece goals cost us once again.

The 2-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest on Saturday was our fifth from a winning position this season and it wasn’t the first time that we’ve exposed our big weakness in defending set pieces.

Another two goals today after the three at West Brom a fortnight ago makes it 14 goals conceded from corners and indirect free-kicks this season. In the ten games where we’ve conceded from either a corner or indirect free-kick, we’ve won just two of them.

But Graham Potter must be getting bored now of talking about his side dominating and performing well for the most part and yet coming away with zero points.

“It is disappointing, really disappointing. It’s a sore one for us to take to be honest,”

“We did so much well in the game for 80-odd minutes. We got the goal, had opportunities and restricted them to not too much.

“We did everything right apart from the last 10 minutes. We did not defend two actions in the box and you come away losing.

“It’s clear what we have to do better. We did a lot of good things but it is hard to keep saying that when you don’t get anything but that is the reality.

“I think anyone who watched the game would have said there were a lot of good things we did.”
