Swansea City are back at the Liberty Stadium for their final game of 2018 against Wigan Athletic and they will be hoping to end the year on a high after two successive defeats over the festive period.

The Swans were perhaps a little unlucky to lose a tight game on Boxing Day against Aston Villa where they dominated large chunks of the game without ever really looking like taking their chances.

It was a familiar story for Swansea who looked brilliant in possession but lacked the required cutting edge to turn their good play into goal scoring opportunities.

This is something Potter will need to try and improve and I think he will pick a more attacking line up against an out of form Wigan.

If Wayne Routledge is available I would expect him to come back into the team on the right-hand side with one of Fer or Fulton dropping out.

Fer has come in for criticism in the past few weeks for his performances and I would like to see Fulton and Grimes in central midfield with Celina moving into the attacking midfield role.

I would expect Potter to stick with McBurnie and Dan James after James was pulled off on the hour against Villa with his fitness in mind.

I don’t really see the need for wholesale changes as the majority of the team played well against Villa so it remains to be seen if Potter brings Joe Rodon back in or opts to give him a slightly longer rest.

Wigan arrive in South Wales in the midst of a really poor run having lost the last 4 games and with only 1 win in 8.

After a promising start to the season with their home form particularly strong they have slowly slid down the table and they have not been helped by injuries with star man Nick Powell out injured and due to miss the game against Swansea.

Elsewhere in the Wigan squad, the danger man is probably Will Grigg but he has been in and out of the team recently with Joe Garner preferred.

Wigan are a team who tend to struggle for goals with only 23 scored this season and without the creativity of Powell they are lacking a creative player in the team to spark them.

I really fancy Swansea to win this game and end the year strongly. Wigan are woefully out of form and missing key players and Swansea will be eager to get back to winning ways. I am going to go for a 3-0 win and a solid performance to build on heading into the new year.
