Warnock: Swansea Should Have Ended With 9 Men

Neil Warnock believes that Swansea City were fortunate to end the game with 10 men after Ashley Williams conceded a second-half penalty.

The QPR manager was concerned early on as the Swans had the better moments in the opening 10 minutes, but after that Rangers controlled the game.

Warnock said after his side’s 4-0 victory:

‘We were at sixes and sevens in the first 10 minutes,’

‘If Swansea had got a goal then it would have made things very difficult for us because they keep the ball well.

‘But we sorted ourselves. We’d defended like we had never played together before in our previous two games but, after a bad start, we got back to basics here.

‘It was nice to get back to winning ways and I was pleased all round.

‘Adel Taarabt was excellent, but we know he can do that. We just have to accept that there are going to be days where he is not like that.’

Both teams went down to 10-men after 19 minutes after Alan Tate’s foul. Clint Hill then raced over to show his frustration and he too was given his marching orders.

Warnock couldn’t explain the reason’s for Hill’s red card:

‘I don’t understand the red (for Hill),’

‘He has not raised his hands or headbutted him or anything like that, and the ref said to me that on reflection he could have handled it a bit better.

‘For me the red card should have been for the tackle (by Tate), and there should have been another (for Ashley Williams) when we got the penalty.’
