Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm hasn’t ruled out staying on at the Liberty Stadium, but admits he could be attracted to leave if a big move comes his way.

Much has been said in recent months about Vorm’s significant drop in form, and some supporters wouldn’t be sad to see him go if rumours of a £3m move to Liverpool prove to be true.

With the World Cup soon approaching in June, you’d have expected Vorm to be in the best form of his career, but he looks a shadow of the player he was when he first signed for the Swans under Brendan Rodgers.

Garry Monk completed his first signing this week with arrival of Arsenal goalkeeper Fabianski on a free, and if Vorm stays and can’t show an improvement, the Polish shot stopper should easily gain the number 1 jersey from the Dutchman.

Vorm told reporters in Holland that he doesn’t have to leave, and he could compete with Fabianski for the number 1 spot at Swansea City:

“I didn`t know they were planning to sign him, I can honestly tell you,” Vorm told reporters in Holland.

“But at Swansea City I can see the club is growing and there is competition for everyone and that also applies to me.

“Fabianski was a free agent, which I understood and he has signed for four years and the present situation is that I will be there after the summer so I have competition.

“It may be that Swansea are already responding to my departure but then there must be (an offer). As long as that is not the case, Fabianski and I will have to fight. I do not necessarily have to leave.

“Of course, if I can make a big step then I may do that. We will have to see in the coming weeks.”
