Swansea City say they haven’t received any offers for their players, following speculation suggesting that Arsenal have made a £35m combined bid for Ashley Williams and Michu.

Simply put, a LIberty spokesman said:

“We`ve had no offers for any of our players,”

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is under pressure to strengthen his squad after failing to bring in a number of his top targets, and he has apparently turned his attentions to the Swansea City duo.

Arsenal suffered an opening day defeat at home against Aston Villa and the fans are now desperate to see new signings coming in before the end of the month.

Both players have been linked with Arsenal in the past. Williams has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium since at least May this year while Michu has also been on their radar, unsurprisingly after his goalscoring exploits last season.

Of course, the Swans will be very reluctant to sell some of their star assets. Laudrup will not want to lose two players of Williams and Michu’s quality and importance – especially as he has no replacements lined up.

Chairman Huw Jenkins will feel that the club doesn’t have to sell, and they only tend to do so if the players show a keen interest in a transfer and if the transfer fee matches their valuation.
