Swansea City have suffered an injury blow ahead of Thursday’s Europa League tie as winger Nathan Dyer will miss the match due to a hamstring injury.

Manager Michael Laudrup confirmed the wide man’s absence from the game against Petrolul Ploiesti (7:05pm), although there could be better news for Jonathan de Guzman, who has an outside chance of returning.

The Dutch midfielder clashed with Kuyt when training for the Dutch international squad last week.

Laudrup has enough cover in midfield as he is expected to make changes from the side that lost 4-1 against Manchester United on Saturday.

Roland Lamah and Pablo Hernandez will hope for starts to replace Nathan Dyer, while the likes of Pozuelo, Jordi Amat and Neil Taylor will be standing by hoping for another chance in the European competition.

Laudrup and his players will want to put the heavy opening day defeat behind them and get back to winning ways before returning to League action on Sunday, with a tough trip to Tottenham Hotspur.
