Swansea City: Season So Far

At the midway point of the season the Swans are sitting proudly at the top of the league with 50 points.

We have had some stand out
performances both individually and the team as a whole. Martinez has got
us playing a kind of football that is both easy on the eye and also
effective.

This has been achieved by Martinez switching to a more effective 4-5-1
formation at home which has seen our wide men getting forward more and
supporting the striker. Bodde, Pratley and Britton have been instrumental
in the centre of the park, switching play and also making runs forward.

Dorus De Vries has been a welcome change at the back and also Rangel, Monk
and Painter making sure that our defence is not often breached! Our
weakest link in the whole team seems to be Lawrence as he is too often
caught making mistakes.

We are out of the FAW Premier Cup, The League Cup and also the FA Cup but
we do have a realistic chance of going to Wembley for the Johnstone’s Paint
Trophy.

As a result of our good form, Martinez has won the manager of the month
award twice and Jason Scotland has won the player of the month. A number
of our players, including Rangel, Scotland, Bodde, De Vries, Pratley and
Robbo, have attracted attention from the Championship as well as from our
old manager Kenny Jackett.

Martinez has also been linked with two manager positions in the Premier League (Wigan and Newcastle) as well as the vacant managers position at Real Sociedad, after Chris Coleman resigned.

I am happy with the way the season has gone so far and with memorable wins
against Leyton Orient away, Cheltenham at home and also Leeds at the Liberty this season is definitely going to be one to remember, all that remains is for the Swans to make it to the Championship.

THIS IS OUR SEASON!!!!!!
