Highly rated 19-year-old Cliftonville striker Rory Donnelly is currently discussing personal terms following an accepted bid.

Swansea City confirmed this morning that their latest £100,000 bid for Rory Donnelly has been accepted.

Donnelly is currently the top-scorer in the Carling Premiership with 17 goals. He’s attracted interest from a number of clubs in the Premier League.

‘I’m pleased to say we now have a written agreement with Cliftonville over the possible transfer of Rory Donnelly,” confirmed Swans chairman Huw Jenkins. ‘However, we are yet to finalise terms with the player. That’s the next process.”

Cliftonville chairman, Gerard Lawlor, added: ‘It’s with a heavy heart that we have decided to accept Swansea’s bid. But we can’t stand in Rory’s way.

‘It’s a good deal for the club and for the player and I would personally like to place on record my sincere thanks to Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins for the respect he has shown our club throughout this process.

‘In addition, and assuming Rory is able to agree terms, all at Cliftonville FC would like to wish him all the very best in his future career.’
