According to De Telegraaf, Swansea City have agreed a 1.8million euros fee to sign Utrecht goalkeeper Michel Vorm.

Dutch website www.voetbalprimeur.nl is reporting today that the shot stopper will sign a three-year with the Swans to complete a move to the Liberty Stadium.

Brendan Rodgers’ main priority before the new season started was to sign a goalkeeper following the departure of Dorus de Vries to Wolves and it appears that he has now got his man after failing to sign Forest keeper Lee Camp.

The Swans failed with their first bid for Vorm, and the goalkeeper hoped they would bid again as he was looking for a move out of Utrecht after they signed Roberto Fernandez.

Vorm said about his contract expiring next year:

‘Then I walk out the door for free, the club already has a replacement., Roberto Fernandez, and the Premier League is a great competition.’

‘I’m on the internet to see what a club it is and how the living conditions are in Wales. It looks good,’

‘Foeke Booy called me that Swansea had made a bid that was not enough for FC Utrecht. There would be a bold new bid, so I wait,’

Hopefully soon we’ll hear a more official report on this from the club.
