Swansea lose their place at the top of League One after a 1-1 draw against Bradford City at the Bradford and Bingley Stadium.

Kenny Jackett named the same side that beat MK Dons on Tuesday and new signing Steven Watt was given a place on the bench along with Thorpe, McLeod, Forbes and Connor.

Gueret

Tate – Monk – Austin – Ricketts

Britton – Martinez – Robinson – Williams

Akinfenwa – Knight

477 jacks made the trip North today and witnessed a good attacking display from their side early on.

Tommy Williams assisted another goal as centre back Garry Monk got on the end of his cross to slam the ball home into the roof of the net.

It could have been two at that point as earlier in the half, Akinfenwa had an excellent chance to put the Swans ahead.

Bradford keeper Ricketts was called into action regularly and we needed to kill the game off in the second half.

We expected our opponents to up their game after the break and they did.

Our defence couldn’t hang on to get a second successive victory as 36 year-old striker Dean Windass scored for the first time in 4 games.

Jackett then made a double change 3 minutes after conceding the equaliser. Britton and Williams came off for Forbes and McLeod.

Gueret made two excellent saves from Claridge near the end to prevent Bradford nicking a winner.
Kenny Jackett:
“If goals were awarded for keeping the ball that would be fine, but we didn’t turn our possession into chances. Our approach play looked nice but it doesn’t produce goals.

“We dominated the game for long spells, but we didn’t turn our domination into chances. For instance, we had 14 corners but we didn’t look like scoring.

“Fair play to Bradford, they didn’t let their heads drop and they staged a late rally with a never-say-die attitude, but we could have been away from them before that.”

Bradford skipper, David Wetherall:
“I thought it was a good point for us after we penned them back in their own half in the last 20 minutes.

“People would say we should have won the game after two great efforts at the end, but a draw was a pretty fair result.

“Swansea are a good team and caused us a few problems. They have a great chance of automatic promotion. Their two strikers, Leon Knight and Adebayo Akinfenwa are a handful, but I didn’t think we handled them too badly at the back.”
