Albert Serran has been hit with the news that he could be out for up to 12 weeks with a hamstring injury

Swansea City boss Paulo Sousa has been hit with a defensive blow this week as Albert Serran could be out for up to 12 weeks.

The Spaniard suffered a hamstring injury when he came on as a late substitute in last Saturday’s home win against Leicester City and if he is out for 3 months, he may not be back in action again until May.

Serran’s injury could mean that Paulo Sousa ups his search for a defender in this month’s transfer window.

Several defenders have been targeted and linked with a move including Crystal Palace’s Lee Hills and Wrexham’s Neil Taylor, while long-term target Zak Whitbread joined Norwich City recently.
