Roberto Martinez has received both good and bad news ahead of Saturday’s trip to Northampton.

Left back Marcos Painter is back in training after a hamstring injury but Garry Monk will spend more time on the sidelines with a back problem.

Martinez told the Official Site:

‘Garry has not advanced as we thought,”

‘We thought he would be available again, but he has suffered a reaction to the disc that is giving him problems.

‘His back is just not ready, so we will have to be patient. Obviously he is disappointed, but he is still around the place and a big influence off the pitch.”

Painter will be hoping to get his left back place back from Kevin Austin on Saturday as the Swansea defence will be up against former striker Adebayo Akinfenwa.

Bayo has scored 6 goals in only 4 League starts for the Cobblers and he’ll be a threat we’ll have to deal with on the weekend.

The trip to Northampton is 1 of 3 upcoming consecutive away games, we also travel to Bristol Rovers (live on Sky) and Southend.
