Huw Jenkins has insisted that Blackpool have not yet increased their bid for full back Angel Rangel.

The Seasiders had a undisclosed bid rejected for the 27 year-old last week and Swansea City have told them that they’ll need to match their asking price if they wish to sign the Spaniard.

Rangel is looking to fulfil his Premiership dream as ‘soon as possible’ according to his agent and he is very keen to leave the Swans to play top flight football.

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins insists they will hold on firm as they don’t want or need to sell their key players:

‘I’ve not spoken to anyone at Blackpool since we turned down their offer,’

‘I’m not sure if they will phone us again regarding Angel, but he is a player we are not looking to sell.

‘Angel is a great guy and pro, and he’s a good person to have around the club.

‘But we want to give Brendan the best opportunity of reaching our objectives this season and that doesn’t mean selling players like Angel.’
