Unsurprisingly, Michu won the Vital Swansea Man of the Match vs Arsenal poll, as the Spaniard netted a brace to help Swansea City beat the Gunners 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

Leon Britton and Angel Rangel were in joint second place with 10%, while Michu received 64% of the votes. Britton produced an excellent performance as he helped to win possession and recover the play, while Rangel produced one of his best attacking performance of the season. The full back almost scored early in the first half after an excellent run followed by two shots that were both saved. In the second half, he came close again after a run inside from the right flank. Again, his effort was saved by the goalkeeper.

Goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel also made some decent saves and he was in third place with 7%.

In our new poll, we’d like to know where you think we’ll finish in the Premier League table, given our excellent start to the season. Michael Laudrup’s side are in joint 6th place with Everton, and only the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Spurs above them.

We asked the same question back in September, after excellent form saw us as high as fifth in the table. Despite the promising start, the fans remained realistic about our chances, with just 21% believing we’d finish in the top half.

Will more than 21% now believe a top 10 place is a possibility come next May? You’d have to say it’s becoming a realistic prospect now, especially if manager Michael Laudrup could pull off a few more bargain buys in the upcoming January transfer window. Chairman Huw Jenkins has confirmed that funds will be available in the New Year to strengthen the squad.
