Lee Trundle said he’d been waiting a long time to score again in front of the Liberty Stadium crowd.

The scouser is now in his second spell with the Swans after returning to the club on loan until January.

He stepped up to score from the penalty spot early in the second half on Saturday to give us a 1-0 lead at home to Sheffield United. Tom Butler later got the winner with a superb strike from 25 yards.

Trundle said:

‘I’ve been waiting a long time to do that,’

‘I’ve been thinking about it for ages, before I came back, so it was nice to get my first goal back at Swansea in front of the home fans and it all just went to my head.

‘As soon as I was brought down I went and picked the ball up and all I had in my head was ‘goal.’

‘I never felt any pressure that we haven’t scored for a while or haven’t won at home, I just thought about the penalty.’

Trundle could be in the starting line-up tomorrow night when we face Doncaster Rovers as Paulo Sousa has more injury problems to contend with.

He added: ‘I’d prefer to be in and around the box and getting shots off, but as long as I’m in the side I’ll play anywhere,’
