Ipswich Town manager Roy Keane says he’s not going to blame the match officials for his side’s 3-1 defeat at home to Swansea City today.

The Tractor Boys took the lead early in the second half but the Swans were 2-1 in front with goals in an excellent 6-minute spell.

The big controversial moment then came when the referee ignored Ipswich’s strong claims for a penalty when Mark Gower looked like he brought down Carlos Edwards inside the box.

Keane said:

‘I’m not blaming the officials for the defeat,’

‘We were 1-0 up, had clear cut chances to make it two but we can’t seem to score two or three goals in a game.

‘We should have killed the game off but then we let in a goal from another set-piece, and gave away another one when we tried to dribble the ball away from the goalline.

‘We are not doing the basics right and if you give away goals and can’t score them at the other end, you are not going to go anywhere.’
