Swansea City striker Danny Graham sounds determined to earn back his first team place having lost it recently in favour of moving Michu forward into a more attacking position.

Before the Wigan Athletic game a fortnight ago, manager Michael Laudrup hinted that he has been considering how he can change his line-up to help improve his side’s performances. And while we thought he was hinting that Luke Moore could start ahead of Danny Graham, instead, he’s brought de Guzman back into midfield and moved Michu into a more attacking role.

The move has definitely been benificial, Michu has already proved to far more of an attacking threat, even in his slightly new position compared to Danny Graham, who has admitted himself he has not been playing well enough recently.

Danny Graham could get his place back soon as Michu is one yellow card away from serving a one-match ban for picking up 5 bookings.

“I want to do well for the team and for Swansea City,”

“I`m not a player who hides away when I`m not playing well, and I`ll admit that I haven`t been playing well recently. But you have that as a player and that`s part and parcel of football.

“There is always disappointment if you`re not playing. But over the last few games I can hold my hands up and say I haven`t played as well as I should have.

“As a result, the gaffer has changed the team and rightly so. But it`s now up to me now to work hard in training and show the desire to get my shirt back.”

“In the past there might have been times where I might have hid and not got into the box and wanted to score. But I`m older and wiser now and I`ve got the belief that I can score goals.

“I`ve got three so far this season and I want to add to that. But for that to happen I`ve got to get back in the team.

“There is more to come from me and I`ll keep working hard.”
