Swansea City defender Chico Flores is a doubt for Saturday’s home game against Chelsea

Swansea City defender Chico Flores is a doubt for Saturday’s home game against Chelsea, after suffering a dead leg during Wednesday’s 3-1 Capital One Cup win at Liverpool.

The Spaniard opened the scoring for the Swans with an excellent headed goal from a corner, but he was forced to leave the field in the second half after struggling with a dead leg following a challenge.

Garry Monk is ready to come in as his replacement but manager Michael Laudrup will give him as much time as he can to prove his fitness.

Ashley Williams will be forced to play despite having an ankle problem, while he may consider a change in midfield following Wednesday’s game. Wayne Routledge could possibly return to the starting line-up in place of either Pablo Hernandez or Nathan Dyer.

Chelsea meanwhile, also played in midweek, including extra time as they beat Manchester United to progress though to the quarter finals of the League Cup.

They also have a few injury concerns ahead of Saturday’s game as Mata (hamstring) and Luiz (ankle) could miss out. John Terry serves the final match of his 4-match ban, but Ashley Cole, Fernando Torres and Branislav Ivanovic are all available again to boost the League leaders.
