Ryan Giggs has claimed today that he actually turned down the chance to take the manager’s job at Swansea City!
We were led to believe this week that it was the club that turned down Ryan Giggs, and went in favour of Bob Bradley instead, with sources claiming that the former Manchester United multi Premier League winner didn’t impress at the interview.
But whilst working as a pundit for ITV’s coverage of England’s World Cup qualifier tonight against Malta, the former Welsh international said that his ambitions didn’t match those of Swansea City, and that there were ‘mixed messages’ so things ‘didn’t work out’.
”I was enjoying my year out, which was a bit of travelling and broadcasting, and I then got the call off Swansea.
‘I met with them a few times. But in the end there was just mixed messages from the football side and the ownership side of the club and I just felt that their ambitions didn’t really match mine so it didn’t work out.’
So according to Ryan Giggs, a man to be trusted of course, he was actually our first choice then! And we had to turn to Bob Bradley as a result!
