You could say it was a carbon copy of the Doncaster away game last week. We get a player sent off, we pay the price a few minutes later and we try to fight back in the second half to get back in the game.

It was the same scoreline as well, as their 2-1 victory over us means Brentford replace us at the top of League One.

Tate and Iriekpen returned from injury which saved what could have been a rather weak back-line.

Akinfenwa also returned from Nigeria after attending a family funeral and returned to the starting line-up.

Austin, Martinez and McLeod were missing due to suspension however which meant Forbes made his 5th start of the season in midfield.

More than 1,700 Swans fans made the trip Eas along the M4 to Griffin Park but they went home unpleased after seeing Tate getting sent off, and within minutes we were behind.

O’Connor scored from the free-kick which Tate conceded to get his second yellow. 9 minutes later, another set piece – another goal. O’Connor again was the taker and Hutchinson took advantage of poor defending to header home.

Just like at the Earth Stadium last week, the Swans fought well back showing great spirit but the 2-goal gap was tough to overcome.

With their battling second half performance, Swansea did deserve soemthing from the game but Robinson’s last minute goal wasn’t enough to get anything out of the game.

Martinez and McLeod will be back for tomorrow’s game at home to Gillingham after serving their one-match suspensions as Swansea hope to bounce back from 2 defeats on the bounce.
