Craig Beattie is happy to have scored his first goal for Swansea City, and now hopes there’s more to come.

The Scot opened the scoring for the Swans on Saturday away at Ipswich Town but Counago struck back soon after with the equaliser.

Beattie now faces his former club on Tuesday evening and he hopes that his goal on the weekend means he keeps his place at the Hawthorns tomorrow.

He told the Evening Post:

‘Goals always help. It doesn’t matter who you are, they give you a bit of confidence, especially the first,’

‘I’ve got off the mark now and hopefully there are more to come.

‘I’m not going to rest on my laurels after one game I can assure you of that.

‘I wasn’t starting to get concerned, but it’s always nice to get going and hopefully I can push on now.

‘It’s between a few of us strikers at the moment and we all want to play, so when you’ve been put in and you score you hope it’s enough to stay in there for the next game.

‘I’ll look forward to tomorrow. I had a couple of years there and hopefully I can see some friendly faces and come away with the points.’
