Swansea City’s young right back Daniel Alfei has joined League 2 side Portsmouth on a one-month loan.
The 21 year-old has made just 1 League substitute appearance since coming through the youth system at Swansea City, plus 3 starts in cup competitions.
His move to Portsmouth will be his second club on loan after two separate spells at fellow Welsh side Wrexham.
Alfei told the Portsmouth official site that he was delighted with the move and the opportunity to gain Football League experience:
“It`s exactly what I`ve been looking for – a massive club to come to and play some football.
“There are big crowds here and it`s the perfect move at this stage of my career.
“I`ve been in the reserves at Swansea, but I really need to be playing first team football and I want help this club out.
“I think of myself as an attacking right-back, so hopefully I can get some assists and maybe a goal or two.
“As a defender I have to concentrate on helping the side not to concede, but I like to get forward as well.”
Portsmouth assistant manager Anthony Williams also added:
“Daniel`s at the stage where he`s probably ready for first team football and with the way Swansea play football he`s technically very good.
“He`s an athletic player and will hopefully prove to be a good addition to the squad.”
The move is subject to Premier League and international clearance.
