Swansea City defender Alan Tate has become the second player to go out on loan this month, as he joins Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen until the end of the season.

Following Daniel Alfei’s one-month move to Portsmouth yesterday, Tate will make his third loan spell during his time at the club following spells at Leeds United and Yeovil Town.

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes said about Tate’s arrival:

I’m delighted to bring in someone with Alan’s experience. While Alan is predominantly a centre back, he can also play at full back if required, and he’ll go straight into the squad for Sunday.’

The 31 year-old has made nearly 300 appearances in total for the Swans during his loan and permanent spells at the club, but he has struggled to get into the team following their promotion to the Premier League.

Alan Tate is one of five Swansea City players currently out loan, the others are Ki Sung Yueng, Leroy Lita, Kyle Bartley, Gwion Edwards and Daniel Alfei.
