Jonny Williams has confirmed that his agent has informed him that Swansea City have shown an interest in signing him.

After being linked with the young Welsh prospect recently, the 20 year-old has confirmed that the speculation is true that Swansea manager Garry Monk has inquired about the Crystal Palace midfielder.

Like left back Neil Taylor, Williams has told the local press that he is considering his future after struggling to earn himself a regular first team role under Tony Pulis.

Williams said:

‘I spoke to my agent who says (Swansea) were interested,’

‘I need to play football, preferably at Palace, but if not I’d have to consider playing elsewhere.

‘It’s hard to think about (leaving) because I’ve been there for so long.

‘If I can get in the team at Palace, that’s the main thing.

‘But I need to play football at Palace, and I wasn’t last year because I ended up going on loan.’

‘Swansea are a great team. They’ve shown over the last few years that they can do it at the top level.

‘I haven’t heard much personally about if anything’s been offered, but I’m sure I’ll know more about it in the next few weeks.’

Williams is one of Wales’ brightest up and coming players and while he’s looking for regular first team football, you’d have to think that he’d find it just as tough getting it at Swansea City with such strong competition for places in midfield.
