There are worries and concerns regarding the later kick-off time for the Cardiff City vs Swansea City derby game in April.
Due to the match being shown live on Sky Sports, the kick off time has been moved to 5:20pm – giving fans more time to drink, and this worries the Cardiff City Supporters’ Trust chairman, Paul Corkrey:
“If I`m honest, it sounds like a recipe for disaster.
“Cardiff fans are notorious for drinking rather than causing trouble, but the problem is it tends to lead to that when people have had all day to spend in the pub beforehand.
“The decision is a silly one, but there`s nothing that can be done to stop it.
“I just hope the fans use their heads and it all goes off without any trouble.”
“It`s got nothing to do with the fact it`s a derby match, it would be the same if they were facing any other team. Kicking off a high profile game at that time of night is always going to be dodgy. It`s different on a weekday, but on the weekend it`s a recipe for disaster.”
