The Evening Post believe that Lee Trundle and Adebayo Akinfenwa will return to the club on loan to solve our current striker crisis.

Manager Paulo Sousa is without a striker for Saturday’s home League game against Watford as Pintado is suspended and Dobbie could be sidelined for the next 4 weeks.

“I don’t want either of them here, they are average league one players.”

Lee Trundle is apparently already in talks with Swansea City about a temporary move from Bristol City and former Swan Adebayo Akinfenwa could also join him in time to play on the weekend.

The news comes as a big surprise to us fans as Huw Jenkins ruled out a return for Lee Trundle while Akinfenwa has never played at Championship level.

The Evening Post also report that we should know whether we have signed the duo by Friday evening.

“Trundle was USELESS at Leeds last year, Akinfenwa helped Northampton get relegated from League One!

Is Jenkins picking the team or what?!!”
