Neil Taylor’s agent has spoken out again regarding his client’s future – but says the left back would ideally like to stay at Swansea City – but only if he’d get more first team football.

The 25 year-old was so unlucky to suffer a fractured ankle at the beginning of the 2012/13. Ever since the injury and Ben Davies’ burst into Premier League first team football, Taylor has struggled to win his first team place back.

A lot has been said regarding the two left backs – both Welsh internationals – and the need to make room for them both so they can stay and the club benefit from the pair’s growing talents.

However, they obviously can’t both play at left back, but having played on the opposite side of defence for Team GB in the London 2012 Olympics, many fans have wondered why he isn’t being considered as a replacement for Angel Rangel. Dwight Tiendalli has always been the preferred back up choice when the Spaniard is absent.

Taylor’s agent Moralee said it would be ‘ideal’ if the player stayed at the club and enjoyed first team football there:

‘Neil is a player that needs to play regularly, if that could happen at Swansea it would be ideal,’

‘None of my boys have ever been taken out of Swansea, it’s a fantastic club that has made a lot of progress and that’s who Neil wants to play for.

‘But if he can’t be guaranteed regular football, I can’t see him sitting on the bench for another season.

‘That would be a third season in that position. That’s no good for any player and Neil is at his peak.

‘Hopefully he will be given that opportunity at Swansea, but if not Neil may have to pursue other avenues to get some games.

‘Swansea are fortunate in that they have two international left-backs, but Neil hasn’t played enough football of late.

‘We need to talk about things sooner rather than later.’
