Alan Tate says the squad is not getting carried away despite winning 3 consecutive games and going 2nd in the table.

Swansea City have the chance to boost their promotion hopes even further on Saturday when they host Leeds United in a massive game at the Liberty Stadium in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Tate said:

‘We don’t dwell on defeats and we don’t dwell on wins,’

‘You can’t get too high when you win and you can’t get too down when you lose. We’ve just got to move on.

‘It’s irrelevant where we are at this time of the season. We’re not going to get promoted because we won on Tuesday.

‘We’re just trying to plod along and see what the next result brings. We’ve won this one so let’s move on to the next.’

Tate also talked about Tuesday’s win at Coventry City:

‘It was a good result at Coventry because it’s a tough place to go. It’s a different type of challenge,’

‘To be fair, the lads stood up to it and played really well. You want perfection, but sometimes perfection comes in the result, not the performance.

‘I think in fits and starts we had the performance, but it was a battling one.

‘You have to sacrifice your principles to a certain extent, but you don’t go exactly opposite to what you are because you are not going to get results.’

The stand-in skipper added: ‘You can’t get promoted with 0-0 draws, although sometimes you have to settle for them when you’re playing away.

‘We’re the type of team that wants to win every game.’
