Alan Tate says the Swans made it hard for themselves during yesterday’s 2-1 home win against Coventry City.

Brendan Rodgers’ side maintained their 100% winning record at the Liberty Stadium but they had to hang on in the second half as the visitors looked to comeback from a 2-goal deficit.

Swansea City completely dominated the first half and should have scored 2 or 3 goals, but early in the second half Scott Sinclair was able to double our lead.

It was the goal that we needed as a match is never safe at 1-0 but Coventry quickly bounced back with a goal 9 minutes later, and this gave them the confidence to look for an equaliser.

Our defence and goalkeeper did look vulnerable at times, but thankfully we held on and we also had a few chances near the end to make it 3-1.

Alan Tate admitted that we made things difficult for ourselves, as we could have gone on and won the fame 3 or 4-0 after an excellent first half performance.

‘We made it hard for ourselves,’

‘After the second goal we though it was going to be a good cushion for us, and maybe we’d push on and get a couple more, but it wasn’t to be.

‘They scored from a set-piece and it was made harder for us.

‘But it was a good result in the end.’

Next up on Saturday is Scunthorpe United at home, and Tate isn’t under-estimating the Iron – especially after beating Sheffield United 4-0 last night.

‘We don’t mind who comes to be honest.

‘We don’t see it as a better opportunity to win as its Scunthorpe; we just like playing at home.

‘The fans get behind us, they love the way we play and we love playing in front of them.’
