According to reports coming out of Scotland, Swansea City are set to capture the St Johnston Striker. We reported last week however that Martinez had denied making an approach for the Trinidad and Tobago striker.

Swansea have been tracking Scotland for some time and this week has seen an announcement from St Johnston that Swansea did make an official approach for the player.

St Johnstone manager, Owen Coyle said:

‘Swansea have contacted us officially to express an interest in taking Jason,’

‘We have not come up with a figure, but if any club wants Jason now, they have to be reasonable and then sort out a work permit.’

‘Jason is under contract until the end of August.

‘We won’t be greedy, but clubs should not be disrespectful with compensation offers.

‘I will have no qualms in playing Jason for the first month of next season if he is still with us.’

Reports from Scotland are suggesting a deal could be struck this week. Swansea city would have to pay a nominal fee for the player to release him from his contract.

He would be a great signing but with so many players being tracked by Martinez it is hard to say which ones will come to fruition.

Scotland would give us that added pace up front and has a superb goal scoring record, this is the type of player we need to attract.
