Way and Duffy Leave

Swansea City lose £150,000 on Darryl Duffy as he joins Bristol Rovers for £100,000 just a year after his move to us from Hull City. This move is followed by Darren Way who rejoins his former club Yeovil Town for a £50,000 fee.

Bodde Fails To Travel To Sweden

The Bodde took another twist in July as Vital Swansea exclusively revealed that the Dutchman failed to turn up with the rest of the squad as they flew out to Sweden for their training camp. He later joined up with the team after dealing with personal problems in Holland.

Swans Sign Young Striker Morrison

Swansea City later add another striker to their books with the arrival of West Brom younster Stefan Morrison. He is later loaned out to Port Talbot.

Swansea Beat Ostersunds 6-0 in first Summer friendly

Swansea City begin their pre-season campaign in style with a thrashing 6-0 win over Swedish side Ostersunds. Pintado grabbed a hatrick, Bauza netted a brace and Gower scored the other.

Bodde Saga Ends as Ferrie Signs Up

Swansea City are boosted with the news that Dutch midfielder signs a new contract at the club, finally putting an end to the on-going transfer saga to Derby. The Jacks also hand a trial to Van Der Heijden, yes he’s Dutch.

Local Friendly Wins

Before jetting off to Spain, the Swans play a few local friendlies. They began by beating Neath 5-0 at the Gnoll. That followed by 45 minutes against Carmarthen (3-0) and Port Talbot (4-0) respectively.

Brandy Re-Joins On Loan

Swansea City serve up a double Brandy as the Manchester United frontman rejoins us on another 6-month loan, making that our third striker signing of the Summer.

Swans Begin Their Spanish Tour

Swansea City jet off to Spain to play a number of friendly matches as they prepare for the new season in the Championship.

We began poorly with a 4-0 defeat at Espanyol. We responded well though to beat Peralada 2-0. We maintained our winning ways with a narrow 1-0 victory against Palamos, Orlandi netted the winning goal. We ended the tour with a 3-3 draw against Barcelona B. After going down 3-0 at half time, a brace from Bauza and an equaliser from Brandy saw us come back superbly.

Chester, West Brom and Ado Den Haag Friendlies

After returning to South Wales, the Swans were to play 3 more friendlies before the season start.

With Martinez joining us as Manager last year, a friendly was agreed with his former club Chester City. We took a 2-goal lead but Chester came back in the second half at 2-2. Painter scored a late winner.

We were held at the Liberty Stadium by West Brom as O’Leary’s testimonial match ended in a 0-0 draw. Orlandi scored the only goal as we beat Ado Den Haag 1-0 3 days later.
