Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has won his second Vital Swansea Man of the Match poll in 3 games.

Shelvey was your man of the match choice in the 1-0 home defeat against Stoke City, before Gylfi Sigurdsson won the vote following the 2-1 away win at Aston Villa.

The England international won the vote for the 3-0 defeat vs Arsenal with 36%, edging out former Gunners goalkeeper Lucasz Fabianski (34%).

Shelvey still seems to be receiving mixed opinions from the fans – judging from some of the comments we’ve seen on this site, but he’s been one of the better performers in recent games if the man of the match polls are anything to go by.

The Swans are struggling for form and results lately though, and it has to be said that it’s been difficult in some games to pick out a best performer – the Stoke game being the best example of that.

The team played well in the first half against Arsenal, but they didn’t take their one chance and Arsenal punished us early in the second half, Giroud opened the scoring heading directly from a corner.

From then on, there was only likely to be one winner and they couldn’t inspire a come back like they did last season.

But confidence is low, and the Swans desperately need a good result next at Norwich to give them a bit of momentum again – something they’ve not had since the 2-1 home win against Manchester United – their last victory at the Liberty Stadium.

Man of the Match Leaderboard:

Ashley Williams – 3
Jonjo Shelvey – 2
Jefferson Montero – 2
Jack Cork – 2
Gylfi Sigurdsson – 1
Neil Taylor – 1

In our new poll, we’d like to know what you think the result will be at Carrow Road on Saturday. Can the Swans win their first match away at Norwich for the first time since 2008?
