Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers praised his players after his side’s 3-1 friendly win against Inter Baku this evening.

It was the first match as part of their week-long stay at an Austrian training camp and Rodgers said there was a lot of positives to take from the game:

‘It was an excellent exercise for us,’

‘I have to praise the attitude of the players – before and after the game.

‘They have been fantastic all week, and we can take a lot from this game.

‘It’s nice to win, of course, but there are many other things that we will take from this.

‘It was great to see Scott back in action and scoring. He was originally due to play 45 minutes, but he wanted 15 more. Given that he scored within two minutes of the second half, it proved a good decision.

Rodgers also praised the two other goalscorers, Dyer and Moore, as well as new signing Danny Graham:

‘It was also great to see Nathan scoring. We want more goals from him, and he did well today.

‘And the third goal is a lovely header from Luke Moore after an excellent cross from Craig (Beattie).

‘Luke was a constant threat in the air, as was Danny Graham, which is very pleasing for me.

‘Danny is working his way into our style and we’ve been very pleased with him. He’s settled into the group very well.

‘So it was a performance from which we will take a lot from and we can now continue to work towards our next match on Sunday.’
