The Premier League have now announced the three youngsters who are in the running for the March 2017 Premier League 2 Player of the Month.

The three players shortlisted for this month’s award have been drawn up following PL2 Managers nominating the best individual performance from each of their opposing teams across the course of the month.

And given March’s action, Swansea City’s Oliver McBurnie, Stoke City’s Julien Ngoy and Reading’s Jordan Holsgrove find themselves all nominated.

The Premier League have some blurb on each of the nominations for this month.

Jordan Holsgrove (Reading)

Aged just 17, Holsgrove is the youngest of the nominees up for the award, after excellent performances for Reading in PL2 Division 1. Although Reading suffered defeats by Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool Holsgrove stood out with his attacking midfield play and the Royals have very high hopes for their Scotland youth international.

Oliver McBurnie (Swansea City)

McBurnie enjoyed another productive month as Swansea clinched the Premier League 2 Division 2 title with the help of his goals. The 20-year-old scored his ninth and 10th PL2 goals of the season to help the Swans claim silverware with a 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion and a 2-2 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Scottish striker also scored twice in a 4-0 win over Bristol City to take the Swans into the knockout stages of the Premier League Cup.

Julien Ngoy (Stoke City)

With five senior Premier League appearances to his name this season Ngoy demonstrated further proof of his burgeoning quality in front of goal with strikes in each of his Premier League Division 2 outings for Stoke City against Norwich City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United.

The eventual winner will be decided in a couple of weeks by a panel of the Premier League Football Development Department.
