Swansea City Marcos Painter is in a race to be fit for Friday night’s home game against Carlisle.
The left back returned to training today after a foot injury which has kept him out of action for the past three weeks.
However he faces a race against time if he is going to be for Friday’s game against Carlisle.
His return would certainly be a welcome boost to Roberto Martinez as Kevin Austin hasn’t looked comfortable at left back since the Nottingham Forest game.
The Swans’ boss will also be hoping to bring in a new defender on loan this week in time for the game. Martinez looks to have turned his attentions elsewhere as a third bid to bring Derby’s Darren Moore to the Liberty Stadium has failed.
