The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game between Cheltenham Town and Swansea City U23 this Tuesday in the EFL Trophy.

Swansea City’s Under 23 side travel to Cheltenham Town on Tuesday August 15 for the EFL Trophy tie at Whaddon Road and the match carries a 7.45pm kick off.

Referee: Kevin Johnson
Assistant Refs: Ian Dudley and Christopher Kidd
Fourth Official: Lee Swabey

Match Day referee Johnson has officiated three games in 2017/18, showing ten yellow cards and two red cards so far.

He took in 30 games in 2016/17 with a return of 100 yellow cards and four red cards.

His highest card count that season was seven yellows and one red in the game between Southend United and Oldham Athletic. He also showed seven yellows in the game between Port Vale and MK Dons.

He took in 30 matches in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he handed out a total of 88 yellow cards and two red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Port Vale and Oldham on September 29 with a total of six yellows being shown. He also showed six in the game between Portsmouth and Accrington in December and the Reading v Rotherham in February.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.
