Kevin Nugent has decided to leave Swansea after losing his assistant manager’s job.

The former player was assistant manager during Kenny Jackett’s time here but he lost that role when Martinez became the new boss and brought in Graeme Jones.

Martinez made Kevin Nugent opposition scout but according to chairman Huw Jenkins in the south wales evening post remarked:

”He felt things weren’t the same for him at the club any more as he is not involved in first-team affairs.”

‘He wants to pursue a few other things and I understand that,”

‘We met with Kevin last week and decided mutually that we would come to a small financial settlement on the remaining year of his contract.

”I get on very well with Kevin and he didn’t want to be seen as just seeing out his contract.”

Nugent has agreed a small financial settlement with the club to be released from the final year of his contract.
