Swansea City are in talks with Bolton Wanderers about striker David Ngog – but he’s hardly the signing us fans have been calling out for during the January transfer window.

We were hopeful that it was just one of those random names that the media decided to link with us, but Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman has confirmed that the two clubs are in discussion over a possible move.

“Swansea have enquired about his availability,”

“The chairman is discussing the possibility right now.

“Where the deal is at I can`t say right now because the call only came in last night but we have discussed with David the possibility.

“But again, it`s possibilities. I have been here too many times ? both incoming and outgoing ? to regard it as anything else but talk.”

The Frenchman, 24, has served his country at every level up to under-21s, scoring 24 goals for France.

He has struggled to find goalscoring form though, netting just 9 goals in 63 appearances saw him leave the Premier League club to join current club Bolton Wanderers in a £4m move.

Despite the drop to a lower league, Ngog has still struggled to find form, with a career-best of 8 goals in a single season during 2012-2013.

With 14 goals in 81 games at Bolton and a career total of just 24 in 162, he’s hardly an inspiring name to be linked with, but if he does join then we have to support him and give him a chance.
